Zulu & Zephyr has teamed up with Lara Worthington as Creative Director for 2018.
Having built a reputation for an effortless approach to fashion and style, Zulu & Zephyr wanted to showcase this feel from top to toe, so partnering with a leading Australian businesswoman equally committed to that laid back feel made perfect sense.
“For campaign, we wanted to create a story, a feeling – but with a different spin on it”, said Candice Rose-O’Rourke, Director, Zulu & Zephyr.
“Lara understands the effortless and natural Australian girl, but more than that, her beauty brand The Base reflects the same minimal and laid back aesthetic that Zulu & Zephyr does. We knew together, we could create a unique campaign that resonates with our girls”.
Shot by Darren McDonald in the Santa Monica Hills, USA, the inspiration for the campaign was based around the location itself, says Worthington - a dry and dusty ranch blooming with desert flowers and rocky terrain.
“The campaign is all about the earthy terrain, that dusty feeling of being off the beaten track. And I think we really captured that”. Lara says.
Reminiscent of high-end fashion in the 80’s and 90’s, Cami captures the lines, structure and feel of the garments against the muted backdrop. With a strong focus on the stillness of nature and surrounding terrain, Cami reflects this mood through natural fabrications, textures and easy to wear pieces.
